About Stockport County Community Trust
Stockport County Community Trust is the official charity of Stockport County Football Club which was set up in 2021 after the purchase of the club by Mark Stott to achieve his aim of ensuring the football club has a positive impact in the local community. The charity works across Stockport and the surrounding area to use the power of football and Stockport County to make a positive difference by inspiring, educating and supporting the community.
The charity engages with around 8,000 people each year through a variety of education, social inclusion and health and wellbeing programmes, working with residents aged from 5-85 (the current age of our youngest and oldest participant) in a variety of club and community settings.
Purpose of the Role
Stockport County Community Trust is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to lead and develop our schools programmes in primary and secondary schools across Stockport. The role will also support our team of coaches who currently deliver a mixture of classroom based sessions and football/sports coaching as part of PPA cover (not sure I have explained this very well).
This is a rare opportunity to join a charity which is developing and expanding, and which is committed to making a difference to the community in Stockport.
Roles and responsibilities
As an Education and Schools Lead for Stockport County Community Trust you will be responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with schools across Stockport who work with the Trust on our current range of school programmes as well as developing a number of new and innovative programmes.
The post holder will work with primary and secondary schools as well as local SEND schools and a range of alternative provision settings. You will help plan and co-ordinate curriculum themed workshops which use football and Stockport County Football Club to help engage children in curriculum subjects as well as working with schools that buy in PPA coaching, ensuring our provision is of a consistently high quality. .
- To book in schools across Stockport to deliver our Together Schools programme which provides high quality curriculum and sport sessions within local primary and secondary school settings.
- To ensure that all community-based programmes are enriching and progressive, providing physical activity engagement opportunities that are inclusive in their nature.
- To manage the Community Trust’s PPA delivery including maintain strong relationships with existing schools and building relationships with potential new schools.
- To plan and implement a range of additional curriculum based competitions and events such as our annual literacy competition and to plan and deliver additional potential competitions..
- To develop and maintain strong links with partner schools and to ensure that all community-based programmes are managed in an effective and confident manner, meeting school behaviour management expectations and overall objectives.
- To provide ongoing support to coaches working within the education department delivering regular quality assurance through classroom and sporting observations whilst co-ordinating and CPD requirements..
- To lead on the evaluation and monitoring for the education department.
